General Motors India Recalls the Cruze Over Engine Issues

General Motors India has announced to recall a limited range of its Chevrolet Cruze sedan manufactured between the period of 2009 and 2011. The recall has been done voluntarily by the manufacturer because of the faulty engine installations and around 22,000 vehicles fall under this.

"We are committed to putting our customers at the center of everything we do and providing safe, high-quality vehicles. If we foresee a potential issue, we ensure that it is corrected as soon as possible, as part of our complete commitment to customer satisfaction. This is a voluntary recall and, as far as we are aware, does not affect the safety of the vehicle but we want to make sure that our customers experience the right performance from their vehicles," says, Markus Sternberg, Vice President- Aftersales, General Motors India.

The affected cars were found to have an engine stall or we can say the loss of ignition at slow speeds, hence put under examination. Chevrolet conveys that the scrutinization process would hardly take an hour and the owners of the car will be contacted personally. By this, they can get a prior appointment and have their sedan checked as soon as possible at the nearest Chevrolet service center. Otherwise, customers can make a call to the dealerships and book an appointment by themselves as well.

All the Chevrolet dealerships are instructed to carry out the inspection and repair operations smoothly. The company is giving an option of picking up the Cruze from the doorsteps and rest it to the residential address. The service can be availed free of cost at all the GMI service centers across the country.
