A US based automobile company announced that they will be going to launch a new flying bike in the year 2017. This bike will make you feel like Star Wars flying bike. It is named as "Aero-X" hoverbike and it will be ready to ride in the year 2017.
Aerofex, a Californian automobile company, first exposed their demo hoverbike back in the year 2012 which has huge ducted fans, but the display version of this upcoming bike is more glossy and sleek as compared before.
The test drive of this high-tech flying bike would be expected to start in the year 2016. According to the manufacturer, the estimated price would be US $85,000 and company already started accepting refundable security amount of $5,000.
The "Aero-X" hoverbike features a speed up to 72 km/h (42mph) and can reach up to a height of approx 10 feet (3 meters) from the ground level carrying two people. According to the company's officials, this hoverbike can lift up to 140 kgs of weight over any surface type. The total weight of the bike with empty tank is 356Kg. Wheels would be replaced by carbon fiber rotors and the report also reveals that it can ride for up to 75 minutes with a full tank of fuel.
As reported by the manufacturing company that the flying bike will be able to take-off and land anywhere without runway. It can easily be riden like a motorcycle. To control the flying bike, rider just needs to use handlebar grips, located at knee level. You'll need just a couple of days to get trained on this flying bike.
The "Aero-X" hoverbike is 4.5m long and 2.1m wide. This bike has some more additional features like Flotation pontoons for water operations, vehicle bags are also provided with this flying bike.
