Harley-Davidson Announces Global Recall for 57,000 Motorcycles

Harley Davidson, which is a noted US-based premium cruiser bikes manufacturer, has announced a worldwide recall for over 57,000 motorcycles. Under this recall, the motorcycles, which were manufactured during July 2, 2016 to May 9, 2017, are being called from across the globe, owing to an incorrectly fitted clamp on the engine oil cooler line.

The mentioned batch of HD’s Touring Motorcycles includes the Ultra Classic, Electrica Glide, Police Electrica Glide, Police Road King, Road King, Road King Special, Street Glide, Street Glide Special, Road Glide and the Road Glide Special. Out of which, the Street Glide Special, Road Glide Special, and the Road King are available to purchase in India.

in actual, the exact recalled motorcycles are 57,138 units and the reason behind calling them back, in that big amount, is the recorded nine casualties. Where the oil-cooling line get isolated and oil started flowing on the rear tyre, which in result became the cause of bike skid while moving. Due to which two crashes and one injury has been reported.

As per Harley's, the 46,000 units from the recalled 57,138 units, were only decomposed in the USA itself. While, the remaining 11,138 units were exported to the international markets including India as well. In India, there is no official information from the bike maker, but expectations are as soon as possible, a formal recall for the affected bikes will be issued. The dealerships will examine the incorrectly fitted clamp and will fix or replace it free of cost.
