Harley-Davidson Calls Off Over 2.5 Lakh Bikes Over Brake Failure Issue

The iconic cruiser motorcycles manufacturer from America, Harley-Davidson recalled over a range of 2.5 lakh motorcycles consisting the CVO touring and the VSRC range of bikes. The brake failure issue owing to deposition of the components within the braking system is being considered the reason for calling back the motorcycles.

It could result in fatal injury for the rider and its companion if braking system fails to perform. As mentioned by the bike maker in the oOwner’s mManual, the replacement of DOT 4 brake fluid beyond the specified 2-year maintenance schedule, could hinder the misfortune of complete brake system lose without any indication. The bikes which are manufactured in the years between 2008 to 2011 will fall in this recall.

As commanded by the automaker, the authorised dealers will make contact with the owners of affected bikes and call them to get rid of this issue at the service centres. Where the deposition from the components will be flushed out and the brake fluid will be replaced free of cost by the available engineers there. Indian market also has the availability of some CVO touring and VRod bikes. Their owners are also likely to be contacted for such issue.
