Hero Splendor, Deluxe, Passion, Maestro Gets Costlier than Earlier

Hero Splendor, Deluxe, Passion, Maestro, among others have observed a hike in pricing. The company took this step of the increasing the price of its entire product lineup silently. The official website of Hero MotoCorp is not updated with the new price list of product portfolio yet. However, it came into effect with an immediate response.

The reason behind the price hike is not revealed via Hero MotoCorp. Albeit it is being expected that the rising input costs could be the considered factor as usual. The Indian two-wheeler industry was already witnessing the low market sentiments and this price hike would lower sales of two-wheelers in the country. Though, this hike of 1% in pricing would not affect the mindset of most customers.

Hero MotoCorp post updating its entire lineup with the mandatory feature of ABS and CBS like other manufacturers is working overtime transforming its entire product lineup to adhere to upcoming BS-VI emission norms. The most selling Hero Splendor Plus has already been received BS-VI certification as reported. It is likely to introduce in existing product lineup during the festive season.

The company has launched a range of 200cc motorcycles including the XPulse adventure series and fully faired Hero Xtreme 200S. The 200S fills up the void created with the elimination of the Hero Karizma ZMR as the bike was not featuring ABS technology. It is being expected that the bike maker could re-introduce the Karizma nameplate in the coming future, as the moniker had great value in the Indian biking industry. We expect this oncoming Auto Expo in 2020.

In order to comply with the BS-VI emission norms, where a major part of Hero’s production would be benefited with the inclusion of fuel injection system, the range of commuter motorcycles would continue to be powered by carburettor system. Since the updated bikes did not get costlier over the outgoing model.

During festive season last year, the overall sales in the Indian biking industry were not up to the expectation. Since then, the industry is struggling to pace up sales. Earlier this year, the dealership inventory of several OEM’s were at an alarming level that makes them opt for an extraordinary approach to roll out bikes from dealerships.

Currently, it is unclear when the slowdown industry would back on track but the industry stakeholders are hoping for the best during this festive season.
