Honda Offers ABS and CBS Variants of Its Two-wheeler Lineup In India

As the Indian government is all set to mandate ABS/CBS for bikes above 125cc, Honda has introduced the newer versions of its two-wheeler line in India which comes with the ABS or CBS feature. The ABS variant of the 150cc CB Unicorn, which was unveiled in February, now gets the official price. The price list for other variants has also been released by the Japanese auto company.

Honda 2Wheelers has reported the sale of 4,08,559 units during the February month, which was 16.6 percent down from the 4,89,638 units sold during the same period last year. While the company holds one of the top three positions in terms of two-wheeler sale in India, it has recently launched the Honda CB300R to further strengthen its position in the market. The company has reportedly received over 400 booking for the new bike, deliveries of which will begin by March end. Honda's CB Unicorn, which is company's most selling 150cc bike, also now gets an ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) upgrade, which will reportedly cost Rs 6500 extra over the standard (non-ABS) variant. The 2019 CB Unicorn ABS will also get additional features like tubeless tyres, seal chain for better convenience and durability, and a stylish metre console with blue illumination. The new bike will cost Rs 78,815 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Honda had reportedly started giving CBS in its bikes in India a decade ago from today. The company's another popular bike CB Shine has now also been upgraded to feature a Combined Braking System with equalizer. The 2019 CB Shine CBS has been priced at Rs 58,338 (ex-showroom, Delhi), which is in line with the price of the existing model. CBS with equalizer now comes as standard with other two-wheelers including the Honda CB Shine (drum variant), CD110 Dream DX and Honda NAVI. In addition to the CBS, the 2019 CD110 Dream DX CBS variant will also feature 5 spoke silver alloy wheels, painted front fender, chrome finish on handle bar and carrier, clear winkers, cowl and tail cowl and enhanced graphics. The 2019 Dream DX can be purchased at a starting price of Rs 50,028.

2019 model of the Honda NAVI will also now feature Combined Braking System with equalizer. The CBS variant of the Navi will cost Rs 47,110 (ex-showroom, Delhi), which is about Rs 1800 higher than the existing model.
