Honda BR-V: Full Details at a Quick Glance

To replace the Honda's first MUV car, Mobilio in India, BR-V has been launched at starting cost of INR 8.75 Lakhs and goes up to INR 12.90 Lakhs for the top-spec variant. Designed at company's research and development facility in Bangkok, the car has shared so many common features with the Mobilio, however it has also been offered with contemporary features to lure the buyers.

Moreover, the Honda brings to you four different variant to choose, namely E, S, V, and VX that is also has an option to choose between petrol and diesel. Along with a 3 years unlimited kilometre warranty across all the variants, that can also be extended up to 2 years. Six color choices are also made – Carnelian Red Pearl, Taffeta White, Alabaster Silver, White Orchid Pearl, Urban Titanium Metallic, and Golden Brown Metallic.

Talking about the powertrain, both the engines are being carried out with 1.5-litre unit, but making different outputs. To send the power at the wheels, the former has two transmission choices of 6-speed manual and a new CVT automatic, while the latter only gets a 6-speed manual gearbox.

If we talk about the performance, the petrol is capable to pump out a maximum power of 118 Bhp at 6600 rpm and torque of 145 Nm at 4600. On the other hand, diesel is good to make out 99 Bhp of power at 3600 rpm and peak torque of 200 Nm at 1750 rpm. Furthermore, the gasoline motor is claimed to return a mileage of 15.4 kmpl for manual and 16.4 kmpl for CVT unit. The diesel has an impressive fuel efficiency of 21.9 kmpl that is stated to be best in this class.

The BR-V comes as a 7-seater SUV that is the first in SUV as well as in three row option. Also the second row seat has an option of 60:40 split and recline and third row seat has a 50:50 split with recline tactics.

Apart from the high ground clearance of 210 mm, the all-new SUV measures 4,465 mm in length, 1,735 mm in width, 1,666 mm in height and a wheelbase of 2,662 mm, which is almost 10 mm longer than the Mobilio. When all the seats are down, the car has a boot space of 223 litre that can be hiked up to 691 litre by just folding up the rear seats.
