Honda discontinued CBR250R for the sake of CBR300R

The arrival of the new products in Honda Motorcycles results in the funeral of the existing products. Recently the company had stopped the production line for the Honda Stunner and now its CBR 250R's turn. The manufacturer has recently announced that the company had stopped producing the well-fame Honda CBR 250R. The reason behind the discontinuation of the 250cc motorcycle could be anything, either less demand by people or total value for money. The Honda dealers are busy in clearing the stock of the existing motorcycle models, as the new production line-up will start in the month of November, 2014.

The Honda CBR 250R will soon be replaced by the upcoming Honda CBR 300R. The upcoming sport motorcycle will get launched in India in the first quarter of the coming year, 2015. The aforementioned motorcycle can also be said as an upgraded version of CBR 250R, but it would completely belong to the CBR series motorcycles. However, the CBR 250R and CBR 150R is based upon the VFR motorcycle, but having a DNA of CBR series motorcycles. Talking about the appearance, style and performance, the CBR 300R will completely based upon the CBR Series motorcycles.

Honda CBR 300R

Technically, the Honda CBR 300R will get its power from the quarter-liter engine, which has received more power and displacement, as compared to the older one. The CBR 300R will be featuring a single-cylinder engine with an engine displacement of 286cc. The power and torque figures produced by the 286cc power plant are 30.4BHP of total power and a peak torque of 27Nm. Even though, the upcoming motorcycle is featuring more engine displacement and power, but it weighs 8kg less than the CBR 250R.

Honda CBR 300R

The Honda has taken care of the safety features as well. The Honda CBR 300R will be equipped with ABS as standard. The expected price of the upcoming motorcycle would stand in between Rs 2.30 Lakh to Rs 2.40 Lakh (Ex-Showroom). The upcoming motorcycle will give strong rival to the Hero Motocorp's upcoming Hero Hastur, which has also been scheduled for a 2015 launch.
