Honda Expected Navi Not to be Produced in High Volume

The newcomer from the Honda Motors and Scooters India, Navi is a crossover of motorcycle and scooter was launched at the recent Delhi Auto Expo this month. The motoscooter is being built to focus completely to the young generation who wants something unconventional. The Navi gets a decent reception in the country and approx 500 bikes has been booked by the mobile app.

Mr. Shinji Aoyama, COO of the Honda Motor Company's Motorcycle Operations, at a press conference said," To tell you frankly, we are not aiming at very high volumes with the Navi. We will start off with small numbers, watch what will happen in the market and then plan the next step."

“The people here at HMSI found out there are youngsters in India getting tired of sameness of the product. Not all, but some youngsters who felt this way. By introducing these kinds of products, we may have a positive brand image which may lead the industry by providing something new,” Mr. Aoyama said further.

In the last he expressed about the company’s challenging products like Honda Navi along with increasing the number of sales of the automakers big business making products like Honda Activa,"People might feel too comfortable, otherwise, and this not a good thing. In a positive way, there should be some pressure on us to keep staying ahead,"

The Navi comes loaded with a 109cc four-stroke single-cylinder engine that delivers power of 12 bhp and torque of 9Nm. The engine is mated to an automatic transmission unit. The completely built on Honda Activa chassis, the Navi rolled out by the automaker in three variants of Street, Adventure and the Off-road one.from Honda’s scooter line up. It is available in three variants like the Street, Adventure and the Off-road. The motorcycle is an affordable offering of just Rs 39,500 (ex-showroom Mumbai) with multiple color choices to opt.
