Honda Recalls CBR1000RR Fireblade Sportbike in the US

The Japanese bike maker Honda has recalled CBR1000RR Fireblade and its top end variant CBR1000RR Fireblade SP in the US over a faulty fuel filler cap issue. The total of 2,443 bikes was found affected by the problem.

The bikes that were counted in this recall were might have a gap in the seal of the fuel filler cap that can cause water seeping into the tank. Consequently, the engine could stop running, malfunction or can get rust in longtime that can cause any safety issue for the rider and the pillion.

To end up the issue with the affected bikes, Honda will replace the fuel filler cap or in case any sign of water found the fuel pump and fuel injectors will also change. However, the condition is the steel fuel tank of CBR1000RR Fireblade will be replaced while the titanium tank of the CBR1000RR Fireblade SP will not get the similar treatment.
In the US, the recall will be effected from December 4. On the flip of the coin, there are no words by the bike maker for the bikes running in India.
