Honda’s Hydrogen Fuel Cell Project Underdevelopment

Lately, new patent drawings from Honda has been surfaced online. From the sketches, it is clear that the hydrogen fuel cell project to power motorcycles is still under process. Also, an electric streetfighter is loaded with the same technology in the drawing.

Earlier too, Honda has applied for this kind of fuel cell-powered motorcycles. In this sketch, the equipped swingarm is a redesigned unit. That appears a durable unit that can easily bear the load of an equipped electric motor. As the motor will be placed on to the rear wheel’s hub. Whereas, the remaining space will hold the system that converts hydrogen into electricity.

Interestingly, the Japanese government also promoting this initiative of using a fuel cell and developing on a large scale. The ruling government is looking forward to rolling out 40,000 such vehicles by 2020. Also, the setup of 160 filling stations for such vehicles is the part of the government plan.

Apparently, the prototype seems market ready to hit the tarmac anytime soon. Expectations are it will be showcased at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show this year.
