Hyundai India has officially bid a farewell to Eon by finally discontinuing the car in India from January 2019. Hyundai has officially pulled the plug on the entry level Eon hatchback in India, followed by its removal from the company’s official Indian website. The budgeted and small Korean hatchback was launched in India in October 2011 and served the company for more than eight years. Eon was introduced with a puny 800cc engine, delivering  55bhp and 75 Nm of torque.

Eon came with a three-cylinder 1.0-litre Kappa mill in 2014 as a new variant. The new motor integrated into a five-speed manual gearbox used to produce 65bhp and 95 Nm. At no time, Eon received a facelift in India but only a minor updates with added safety features were introduced by the company to the hatchback.

It will not be a surprise if Hyundai will bring a new and refined version of the Eon the way the new Santro came for the discontinued i10.  Well, the new QXI has already launched apart from the updated Grand i10, Xcent, Elite i20. While the Creta will be arriving in India this year.
