The updated 2017 Hyundai Creta SUV has been displayed at the ongoing 2016 Sao Paulo Auto Show in Brazil. The updated model features styling tweaks and the several cosmetic changes. However, it is not confirmed yet whether these updates will be seen on the facelift version of Creta or not. The same Creta facelift is likely to be launched in India in a couple of years.
Coming on the noteworthy updates, the new Creta gets redesigned front fascia which houses tweaked headlamps with LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lights), more prominent three slate grille and further, revised front bumper with horizontal fog lamps give the completely new look to the SUV. Moving on the rear, there are not many changes, the new Creta only gets revised bumper and taillamps with minor tweaks.
Inside the cabin, no major changes have been noticed except few cosmetic changes. The infotainment system adds the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
Beneath the hood, the model displayed at the auto show features two powertrains. One is a 1.6-litre mill which is mated to either a manual or an automatic transmission and produces a maximum power of 130 hp. On the other hand, the more powerful 2.0-litre engine comes with a standard automatic transmission and churn out the peak power of 166 hp.
The best in the segment, Hyundai Creta is a successful SUV in the Indian market and also carries the badge of the best seller car in the small SUV segment in the country. Work on the next-generation version of the car has already been started and is expected to come out by 2021. More interestingly, this next-gen Creta will also be offered in a 7-seat configuration besides 5-seat. And considering the popularity, Hyundai will surely bring both the version of the Creta in India.
