India-bound Renault Captur Snapped Inside the Cabin for the First Time

Thanks to RushLane, a fresh set of spy shots revealing the interior details of the upcoming 2017 Renault Captur SUV has been surfaced online. To join the company of Renault’s Indian SUV lineup, the upcoming Capture will sit above the existing Duster. The Captur is likely to go on sale in the country this festive season.

Leveraging the spy pics, the cabin of the 2017 Captur SUV has been snapped for the first time. From the images, the India-spec version is much similar to that of the model has been selling in Brazil. According to the images, the cabin features a dual tone black and ivory paint scheme for the dashboard and seat upholstery.

In addition to this, the snapped model has also featured with body coloured border around the highlights inside the cabin such as the HVAC vents and center console. It further suggests that the upcoming Renault SUV will be offered with personalization package similar to which is offered on the entry level hatch, Renault Kwid.

The interior details of the upcoming Captur include company’s 7-inch MEDIANAV smart infotainment system, chrome-bordered instrument panel with angular dials, automatic climate control, 3-spoke multifunction steering wheel, and large electronic operable exterior mirrors.

On the outside, however, it is still fully camouflaged but it can be observed that dimensionally it will be identical to that of what’s available in the Brazilian market. The Brazilian-spec model measures 4,333 mm in length, 1,813 mm in width and 1,613 mm in height, along with a wheelbase of 2,673 mm.

Since the underpinnings of the Indian version Captur will be based on the Renault Dusted, instead of the Renault Clio, the under hood details of the car will be borrowed from the same. The powertrains’ details consist a 1.5-litre dCi, 4-cylinder diesel motor and a 1.6-litre petrol mill. The petrol powered setup is good for developing a maximum power of 110 PS and a peak torque of 245 Nm, the diesel motor develops 104 PS of maximum power along with the peak torque of 148 Nm.

On the transmission, Renault could introduce 6-speed manual gearbox as a standard. Carmaker’s EASY-R AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) could either be dropped or work parallel to Renault’s EDC automatic gearbox.
Launch due for this festive season, the upcoming Captur is likely to fall in the price range between INR 10 Lakh - INR 13 lakh (ex-showroom).
