India-bound Skoda VisionS concept-based SUV To Launch By 2017

The production-version of Skoda VisionS SUV (also called as Skoda Kodiaq) is likely to make debut in India next year. It is said to be Skoda’s first ever largest SUV and will be placed above Skoda Yeti. Firstly, the SUV will be previewed at the 2016 Paris Motor Show this October. It will share some close design layout with the Skoda VisionS Concept which was displayed at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.

As per the reports, the flagship SUV will offer some spectacular exterior attachments such as sleek LED headlamps with LED DRLs, angular LED taillamps, dual exhaust pipes surrounded by the black-plastic bumper, and triangular reflectors. The interiors might offer Audi-inspired TFT instrument display, center console infotainment system, and driver assistive buttons.

The VisionS powermill will be based on the MQB platform, which is expected to receive localization in India as well. The engine will include the 1.8L TSI and the 2.0 TDI, which will be paired to DSG gearboxes. Same pair of engines power the Skoda Superb too. However, the top variants are expected to get AWD system.
