India Bound Volvo XC90 Embarked at the Auto Event in New York

The third generation Volvo XC90 compact SUV has been rendered at the ongoing 2015 New York Motor Show as the first model from this Swedish car manufacturer to hold the Volvo's latest design philosophy that will be followed by its other upcoming vehicles. Based on the new Scalable Architecture Platform, this car receives new face alongside the company's prominent logo centralized at its large grille. Apart from the grille and logo, the crossover gets hammer shaped headlights, stunning flared wheel arches and redesigned chrome adorned bumper to make the customers astounded at a glance.

Other features include huge wheels, more attractive roofline, vertical tail lamp cluster, and roof lip spoiler. Inside the cabin, the premium variant has been equipped with an orrefors designed gearlever, four zone climate control, high end music system, voice recognition, powered seats and a touchscreen display, including Google Android Auto or Apple CarPlay, juslike the Tesla Model S. These noteworthy equipments believe to bestow the completely entertaining as well as comfortable journey for the passengers.

Coming to its powertrain, the top end T8 variant of this new generation model has been introduced in a hybrid avatar alongside a four cylinder supercharged petrol engine comprising an electric motor that would produce total 400 bhp of power and 640 Nm of torque. In complete electric mode, the vehicle can cover up to 25 km distance, but there is a bad news for the Indians that the launch for this trim is yet to be confirmed for our country.

However, its oil burner variant will be arriving in India with 1,969 cc inline four cylinder twin turbocharged diesel mill producing the outputs of 225 bhp and 470 Nm. The powertrain will be mated to an 8-speed manual transmission for driving all four wheels of this crossover. As we know that the dealers have already started taking orders for XC90 in the country, while it will be rolled out here in September 2015.
