India-made Renault Kwid To Enter Brazil By March 2016

After gaining good market share in the hatchback segment, the India-made Renault Kwid is set to be exported to Brazil by next month. The news has been confirmed by Sumit Sawhney, MD & CEO of Renault India. He also revealed that the Kwid will also be exported to Latin america as well. In order to make the export easy and hassle-free, the company will export Kwid as SKDs (Semi-knocked down Kits), thereafter it will be assembled in the local Renault plant located in Resende, Brazil.

Meanwhile, We have been witnessing a change in the trend. Now, the major automobile companies are finding India as a manufacturing hub and are bound to develop their products here. Other domestic companies like Maruti has also started exporting their products to other countries.

The company shall be offering ABS enabled Kwid as standard to the Brazilian market. The car will be powered by a 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine with either petrol or ethanol as fuel. The engine will be paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. However, the top variant might come mated to an Easy-R automated manual transmission. The Kwid will receive minimum changes. The South American Kwid will also feature the same Indian Kwid characteristic as per the patent pictures.
