Indian Chieftain Calls Off in US Over Faulty Right Control Cluster

The iconic American motorcycle manufacturer, Indian Motorcycles has recalled 3,341 units of its flagship Chieftain range in the US. The reason behind issuing the recall is speculated availability of faulty right-hand control units, which get corroded over time. The presence of wireless key anywhere nearby could trigger the startup process and turn the engine on without any external action.

To get rid of this situation, the oldest American carmaker issued a recall for 3,341 motorcycles manufactured in 2018 with suspicion of getting a faulty right-hand cluster. On a happy note, if the vehicle found defective during the checkup, the affected cluster will be replaced with a new one at authorized Indian dealerships free of cost.

Furthermore, if go by the announced made by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), USA, besides creating safety issues it can also provoke carbon monoxide poisoning. If the Indian market is considered, no such official announcement is made by the Indian Motorcycles. Still, the Indian Chieftain owners with bike manufactured in 2018 can hit their nearest dealership for a checkup.
