Indian Harley-Davidson to win Indo-American Excellence Award

The craze for Harley-Davidson motorcycles among the Indian crowd can be seen by the award, which has been given by the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) last week. The award goes to Harley-Davidson's manufacturing Plant, which is located in Bawal, Haryana. Recently the company had launched its entry level bike with an economical price tag, named Street 750 and Street 500. Both these bikes are being launched in India as well as manufactured also at the operational facility at Haryana. The facility was assembling Harley-Davidson bikes since the year 2010.

The Harley-Davidson plant of India receives the Indo-American Trade Excellence award for its Operational Excellence in the manufacturing of HD motorcycles. The Indian Operational facility is the only manufacturing plant of Harley-Davidson motorcycles, which is located outside the United States; home town of the company. The motorcycles have been assembled in only two countries; the first one is in the United States and second one in India.

Baljeet Mokha, Director of Harley-Davidson Operational Plant, receives the award from IACC said, "We are honored to be recognized by IACC for Harley-Davidson India's operational excellence in manufacturing. The ability to build and deliver exceptional products is possible only through inputs from our customers and the efforts and dedication of our employees and partners."

Now, the Street 750 and 500 motorcycles have become radical models of the company, giving its sales a whole new direction as it had received man bookings at the time of launch. The company has its own tactics of attracting female riders also, as they introduced a girlish version of Street 750 and 500 models.
