Seems like, the Jeep fanatics have to wait for a while to take a look of the all new Jeep 551 C-SUV, which was scheduled to be unveiled at the upcoming 2016 New York Auto Show.The American automaker is working on the production of the model, so it will take a bit of more time in releasing the finished Jeep 551. As of now, the company has not released any official statement regarding the delay. But, the reports suggest that the slowdown in the production process has made the automaker to postpone the official launch date of the vehicle.

The Jeep 551, which comes under the C-SUV segment is likely to be placed in the top class and in the coming days the company shall be putting it forth as the replacement for the Jeep Patriot and other compact SUVs.
Meanwhile, Jeep has also announced that it will shortly launch its three models in the Indian market. The said models will be imported to the country as CBU (Completely built Unit). The Renegade SUV has also been spotted on the delhi roads multiple times. However, the automaker has planned to manufacture the Jeep 551 at FCA’s Ranjangaon plant, located close to Pune.
Mechanically, the Jeep 551 is expected to be powered by a 2-litre, MultiJet diesel engine which would produce up to 170 BHP of power output. It is also expected to go through localization. Once launched, the car will be seen competing against rivals like Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour.
