Kawasaki India Launches 2018 KX250F Dirt Bike For Rs 7.52 Lakh

The Indian sub division of Japanese bike maker, Kawasaki India has introduced the 2018 model year version of the Kawasaki KX250F in the country’s lineup. The asking price for this new KX250F is Rs 7.52 Lakh (ex-showroom, pan India). For a reminisce, it is still a track only bike in India and not legalized to run on the streets. The 2018 KX250F has gone through a host of mechanical advancements at engine and suspension front, while the underpinned frame continues to remain same as the last year model. With these improvements, the lap times on the KX250F has improved over the previous model as Kawasaki claims. While the price has also observed a hike of Rs 38,000.

Mechanically, the KX250F gets the propelling power from the 249cc 4-stroke single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, which has received a bucket full of changes for the 2018 edition. The alterations include a new throttle body and a fuel injector for improved torque figure. In addition to that, the engine also gets a new fuel pump, new intake boot and camshaft, new cylinder head and a revised compression ratio of 13:4:1 as well. There is also a new exhaust unit in this 2018 Kawasaki KX250F. All the changes consequently offer a wider power band across the rev range.

The prominent cycle part on the new KX250F, the suspension setup is all new which comprises new 48 mm separate function front forks (SFF Type 2) and the uni-trak rear suspension setup. The equipped setup with the retuned settings promises improved damping performance and rider comfort even over the braking bumps and corners. The lightweight aluminum perimeter chassis is all same as it has already got a comprehensive change in 2017. While the de-acceleration will be handled by the 270mm front petal discs brakes.

The electronic package on the bike has also been revived for an improved performance, it now gets refined ECU settings, DFI connectors which offer three different engine tuning maps such as standard, hard and soft. Other than this, there is also an optional KX Fi calibration kit that gives the freedom of choosing seven separate engine maps. While the provided the KX Launch Control System offers quick launch during releasing the clutch off the start.

Available in a single lime green shade, the 2018 Kawasaki KX250F will hit the Indian dealerships all the way through CBU channel. And under the new GST taxation structure, this dirt bike, which is targeted to motocross racers will attract an additional one per cent, which has increased its price to a marginal.
