The Kawasaki has launched the 2018 variant of the Kawasaki Ninja ZX10R with a surprising price tag of Rs 12.8 lakhs, with a reduction of almost Rs 6 lakhs from the price of the CBU model, which is currently selling at the starting price of Rs 18.8 lakhs (ex-showroom price). The Ninja ZX10R has been completely assembled in the Indian R&D of the company. The company will also sell another bike, Kawasaki Ninja ZX10RR, in India at the starting price of Rs 16.10 lakhs.

The interested buyers can now book the all-new 2018 Kawasaki Ninja ZX10R at any showroom/dealer of Kawasaki India by making a down payment of Rs 3 lakhs. Before today, the bike could only be purchased in India via the CBU route, which added import duty to the price tag, increasing its cost by as much as Rs 6 lakhs. However, the company has now started assembling the CKD units of the bike in India, on which the export duty is comparatively lower and so the price of the assembled bike is also lower now.

“The new Ninja ZX-10R & new Ninja ZX-10RR have a unique engineering heritage with a very advance technology. Our newly established R&D played a vital role in making local assembly of the new Ninja ZX-10R and new Ninja ZX-10RR successful,” said Kawasaki India's Managing Director, Mr Yutaka Yamashita, while announcing the news.

Outside India, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX10R is available in three variants, the ZX10R ABS (in Satin Silver Color), ZX10R SE (in black color), and ZX10R KTR edition in green color.

The bike has been customized with advanced electronic aids, including Kawasaki Launch Control, Kawasaki Traction Control, Kawasaki Braking Control, Corner Management Function, Quick Shifter and Bosch Inertial Measurement Unit. As for the braking system, the front gets 330mm Brembo semi-floating discs, while 220mm disc brake ha been attached at the rear. The brakes are further upgraded with Kawasaki’s Intelligent Anti-lock Brake System.

As for the engine capacity, the new Kawasaki Ninja ZX10R gets its power from a 998cc, inline, liquid cooled, 4-cylinder engine capable of delivering 113.5 Nm torque at 11,500 rpm and 197 PS power at 13,000 rpm. The bike has a peak speed of 299 kmph. The engine has also been integrated with a crankshaft with the purpose to lower inertia while offering improved cornering abilities along with better acceleration and deceleration.

The 2018 Kawasaki Ninja ZX10R is expected to compete against the likes of Yamaha R1, Honda CBR1000RR, Suzuki GSX1000R and BMW S1000RR in India.
