Kawasaki W175 Entry-Level Cruiser Competes Royal Enfield

Lately, India’s Royal Enfield declared the new bike in Indonesia and this time Japan’s Kawasaki announced a new cruiser to compete against RE's new offering in the Indonesian market.

The latest motorcycle, Kawasaki W175, formulated a premiere in Kawasaki Bike Week in Indonesia. In Indonesia, the bike is priced at IDR 29.8 million which equals Rs. 1.38 lakh in Indian denomination. The W175 is an entry-level cruiser bike that is revealed in Pearl Crystal White color for the standard variant and in three color choices pertaining to Metallic Matte Covert Green, New Silver and Metallic Spark Black for the SE variant . The SE variant is costed at IDR 31 million which is Rs. 1.48 lakh in Indian denomination.

Kawasaki W175 obtains the comprehensive length of 1,930mm and a 765mm slightly high mounted handlebar in addition to the 775mm seat height and 126 kgs of weight. The bike acquires an analogue speedometer in relation to trip meter, remote light indicator, and odometer function. Besides, it has a peashooter style exhaust system, a Mikuni VM24 carburetor, and curved header pipe setup.

Considering the braking functionalities, it has a double piston disc of 220mm at the front and it gets 17” wheels along with chrome accents. The standard model of the Kawasaki W175 ingests a plain seat whereas the W175 SE takes Consolidated seating arrangement.

The bike is powered by a 177cc SOHC, 4 valves, and single piston engine which is able to churn out a maximum power of 12.8 ps at 7,500 rpm and a peak torque of 13.2 Nm at 6,000 rpm.

The appearance of the classic bike is just similar to its comrades, W250 and W800. The Kawasaki W175 is the third in the row of retro offerings in Indonesian market from Kawasaki. As Kawasaki put so many efforts to make it a retro styling bike in affordable price range, so any bike couldn’t compete against it in this segment.
