2019 Kawasaki ZX-6R Under Development, Could Launch Next Year

As per the leaked documents signed by Kawasaki USA and the California Air Resources Board, there is an updated version of the ZX-6R which is currently in developing phase. It is expected that 2019 Kawasaki ZX-6R is likely to mark its presence in the global market early next year.

According to the documents’ details, the new year model will not only comply with the more stringent Euro IV emission norms but also will house a new 3-way catalytic converter instead of current 2-way offering. The changes which will be experienced post introduction of this new cat-con is the reduction in pollutants emissions like the carbon monoxide and nitrogen compounds. As it will convert carbon monoxide into water and nitrogen compounds into pure nitrogen which will result in lesser emission.

Other than this, we could witness alterations at designing front. It could be more sharp and edgier as like it bigger sibling Kawasaki ZX-10R. A host of new features could be added or retune for improved better performance. In this row, we could see the introduction of more riding modes along with a new traction control system. Whereas, the suspension and braking setup will be tuned up to perform more precisely.

Expected to continue with the same 310 kg weight, the 2019 Kawasaki ZX-6R will house the similar 636 cc 4-cylinder engine from the ongoing model without any electronic adjustment.

Globally, the 2019 Kawasaki ZX-6R is expected to showcase at the forthcoming Tokyo Motor Show this year. As the 600cc supersport is one of the least demanding bikes across the world though the chances are it wouldn’t hit the Indian market. Also, the pricing tag is another reason for its entry into Indian biking industry. Still launches anytime, it will go lock horns with the models such as the Yamaha YZF R6 and the Suzuki GSX-R750.
