KTM revealed the 2019 KTM 790 Adventure R Prototype to add into the 150 KTM Adventure groups during the KTM European Adventure Rally running in Sardinia, Italy. The most-awaited KTM 790 Adventure R is developed with KTM 450 Rally bike. This middleweight adventure motorcycle is placed above the KTM 390 Adventure bike which is to be introduced by next year in the country, as confirmed by the Bajaj.
Displayed in prototype format, 2019 KTM 790 Adventure R borrows features from the 790 Duke. It takes in ride-by-wire throttle, multi-level traction control, riding modes and cornering ABS. It will as well get fully adjustable WP forks at the upfront, long travel suspension and WP PDS monoshocks concerning the back side.
The adventure motorcycle will as well be available along with adjustable foot pegs, better ergonomics, a low seat height, enhanced ground clearance, handlebars, a low slung fuel tank for maintaining a good center of gravity. The KTM 790 Adventure R will be using 18” rear and 21” front wheels attached with coarse tyres to deal with off-road conditions easily.

Engine characteristics can be similar to the LC8c 799cc parallel twin engine available in the 790 Duke paired for additional torque.
Even the motorcycle will be available in the market globally by early 2019, however, India-launch is not assured yet. Although, the KTM 390 Adventure will reach India in 2019 starting and will be developed at the Chakan auto plant of Bajaj.
