The test mule of KTM 790 Adventure was snapped testing. It appears pretty closer to production-ready guise with various modifications. Earlier it appeared in February that showcases the company is looking for an early launch as the work being done swiftly. Next prototype within 3 months, amazing!!

Primarily, the KTM 790 Adventure came to light in prototype form at EICMA 2017 as an adventure motorcycle. If launches, it will be positioned below the large 1090 and 1290 Adventures.

As per the concept model, the motorcycle gets furnished with a 21-inches wire-spoke wheel at the front 18-inches one at the rear. The suspension setup comprises long travel USD telescopic fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear. The monoshock is directly connected to the frame without any support. While for braking company offers dual disc at the front and a single at the rear, with callipers sourced from Spanish manufacturer J. Juan, a specialist in motocross, trials and enduro braking systems. All these features are shared with the sibling the 790 Duke.

The 790 Adventure features brand-new LC8c 799cc parallel-twin motor from the 790 Duke that is the first motorcycle with the mentioned engine unit. The company claimed power output for the Duke is 105hp and 87Nm. With the 790 Adventure, there are chances that company could adjust tuning in order to perform well in low-end torque.

The noticeable changes in motorcycle, post it spied in February includes improved windscreen and a new front fender. While the February test mule was snapped with beak-like fender mounted beneath the headlight and a more traditional fork-mounted fender, close to the tyre.

If the bodyworks structure is considered, the test mule was featured with a similar bulbous structure on either side of the engine bay, ahead of rider’s shins. The manufacturer’s intent is not getting clear with these structures are they low-slung fuel tank extensions, stowage compartments or any kind of protection from the crash.

The test mule was much closer to the production ready-guise that make us believe of its launch may take place by the end of this year or at the forthcoming EICMA/ the Intermot Cologne motor Shows. In the segment, the 790 Adventure will go in competition with the likes of opponents such as the Honda Africa Twin, the Triumph Tiger 800 XC range and the BMW F 850 GS.

Besides, a 390 Adventure concept is also in concern of the company that is likely to showcase sometime this year. Until the 790 Adventure will be the smallest ADV motorcycle from the Austrian bike manufacturer.
