KTM Duke 790 to Price Around Rs 6 Lakh in India

The Austrian motorcycle manufacturer that is majorly renowned for its off-road and street motorcycle across the world, has recently unveil its production-spec Duke 790 at the passed 2017 EICMA in November month. Also, the bike maker has revealed its pricing for the UK market that starts from from £8199 (approximately Rs. 7.04 lakhs) for A2 license holders and £8499 (approximately Rs. 7.32 lakhs) for others.

If the pricing of the bike in question is considered, it is around less than double of the lowered trim the Duke 390 that costs £4699 (approximately Rs. 4.04 lakhs) in the UK. When the Duke 790 will launch in India it will be tagged with the price sticker under Rs 6 Lakh (ex-showroom), owing to its assemblence in India as considered. Here in India, the bike will hit the Indian shores all the way through CKD route and it will share some cycle parts from the Duke 390 for cost cutting.

In the segment, KTM will go in competition with the rivals such as the Kawasaki Z900, Triumph Street Triple RS and Yamaha MT-09 which priced around Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom).

Mechanically, the Duke 790 will be packed with an all new LC8c parallel-twin engine that in association with a 6-speed transmission and a quick shifter is said to generate the maximum power of 105 PS of power at 9000 RPM and 86 Nm of torque at 8000 RPM. The suspension duties on the bike will be taken care by the 43 mm USD front forks and a gas-charged rear monoshock unit. While, the 300 mm dual petal discs at the front wheel and 240 mm single petal disc will handle braking to safeguard the life of the rider and pillion. In India, the bike is expected to launch anytime in 2019.
