Remaining 175 showrooms, which are targeted to open by next year will be a part of company’s plan-B, Tier 2 and Tier-3 cities, for a new audience.

In the financial year 2013, KTM managed to sale just 7000 bikes, but after four years in fiscal 2017, the Austrian manufacturer took a huge jump with approximate sales of 37,000 units. In February 2017, KTM garnered over 1 lakh units sale milestone and was appreciated by the title of India’s fastest growing sports motorbike brand.

2016 had emerged as a tremendous year for the Austrian giant motorbike maker as they retailed more than 2 lakh bikes across the globe, their highest sale till date. In this phenomenon, KTM accumulated its highest till date revenue accounted 1.14 Billion Euros (Rs. 8025.49 crores).

As per the reports, in the Indian premium motorcycle category, KTM possesses huge market share of 80 percent. While the iconic cruiser bikes maker, Harley Davidson is on second place with just 8% of the entire market. Other CBU dominated contenders in the list are Benelli/Hyosung, Kawasaki, Triumph and Ducati with 6%, 3%, 3% and 1% of the market share, respectively.

This year, KTM revived its entire Indian lineup for mid life updates and for BS-IV emission norms. KTM’s RC 200 and 390, range of sports motorcycles was updated in January. While, the naked street series, the Duke 200 and 390 witnessed alteration in the month of February. Other than this, the Austrian manufacturer has also introduced a new member, the Duke 200 in product portfolio to fill gap between the Duke 200 and 390.

The price of this updated range of KTM motorcycles starts from Rs. 1.43 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the Duke 200 and the flagship models, the RC 390 and Duke 390 prices goes all the way up to Rs. 2.25 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
