KTM Garners Lakh Motorcycles Sale Landmark; Aims to Get 500 Dealerships by 2018

Recently, the Austrian performance motorcycle manufacturer, KTM has successfully attained the prime goal of modifying its product line-up for the stringent BS-IV emission regulations. The new emission norms are going to mandate for automobiles in India from April 2017. Besides, the 2017 KTM Duke and RC range of motorcycles have also witnessed changes on cosmetic front, that has made the new machines more aggressive and appealing than ever.

Now the dealership network's expansion is one of the prime projects for the auto major and the brand is looking forward for it. As reported, the company has garnered one lakh motorcycles sale milestone since its entry in the Indian biking industry in 2012. And, in order to boost up sales, KTM is planning to expand its reach to a wider range of audience by introducing new showrooms across the country. Currently, KTM has 325 outlets which will become 500, after addition of 172 new showrooms by 2018.

The Bajaj Probiking showrooms have also played a vital role in KTM's reaching the milestone only in four years duration. As these showrooms have a widespread network across the Indian territory and exclusively deals with KTM and Kawasaki customers. In the current financial year, the company is hoping to hit a little over 46,000 units sale.

The introduction of new Duke 250 could also help the bike maker to get the mentioned target of sales this fiscal. As it has been placed between the 200 Duke and the 390 Duke to fill the gap and to compete with a few contenders in the segment like the Benelli TNT 25 and the Mahindra Mojo.
