KTM is Planning To Introduce Electric Freeride In The Upcoming Two Weeks

KTM is working to bring-up two electric off-road motorcycles, named as Freeride E-XC and E-SX. Out of these two, Freeride E-XC has launched yesterday in Saalbach, Austria. One best thing about the E-XC that will pump you up is the Lithium-ion battery and motor technology. It combines with superior performance and leading-edge technology, which makes it more capable on off-road. The bike is powered by a liquid-cooled permanent magnet AC motor, which gives 42Nm of torque. The battery is located beneath the seat and the interesting thing is that it can be easily swapped out.

Moreover, KTM is planning to introduce another electric off-road, Freeride E-SM, in the coming two weeks. The manufacturer is carefully working on E-SM to give it a new direction for off-roading. Alike the Freeride E-XC, the new version of E-SM will be using the same components such as wheels, tyres, gearing, handlebar and brakes. This confirmation report was being official at the press launch event where KTM's PR manager Thomas Kuttruf described the supermoto version for the next year. The firm is planning to introduce electric Freeride E-SM Supermoto version in the upcoming INTERMOT motorcycle show, which will be going to held at Cologne, Germany, starting from 30th September, 2014.

The new Freeride E-SM will send the power under the 22HP and make much torque of 42NM. Thanks to the KTM for giving various adjustable riding modes varying from economy to enduro to Supermoto. Alike the Freeride E-SX, the E-SM might be using multi function instruments that is located between the seat and steering head which will give three different riding modes, i.e. Economy, Cross and Enduro. Each mode will deliver different power.

Unfortunately, the price might be a little bit higher than the old stroker. The price of Freeride E-XC was unveiled yesterday at £10,299. The E-SM is likely to stand with similar price.
