The much awaited Mahindra Alturas G4 is all set to launch on 24 November 2018. Potential buyers can now book the 7-seater SUV for a token amount of Rs 50,000. The Indian Automaker has revealed only the color options and variants available on the SUV. It has kept the feature list under wraps for now. What we do know for sure is that the body-on-frame SUV will be offered with AMT only.
What we Know: Variants and Color
There will be two variants- 2WD AT and 4WD AT- of the Mahindra Alturas G4. We expect the 4WD trim to be richer in terms of features than the 2WD trim. SUV lovers will have five color options to choose from. These include silver, brown, black, white and blue. In its segment, the SUV will lock horns with other premium offerings like Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour.
The Engine: What we Guess
While there is no official confirmation on the same, but we expect the SUV to be powered by a 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine that promises 180PS of power and 420 Nm of torque. Transmission duties will rest on Mercedes-Benz-sourced 7-speed automatic transmission.
The Features: What we Expect
The Alturas G4 is expected to be packed with premium comfort and safety features. These include leather upholstery, ventilated seats, touchscreen infotainment system, electric sunroof, dual-zone climate control. On the safety front, the SUV may come equipped with an electric parking brake as well as nine airbags. We also expect HID headlamps and LED DRLs.
The Price Tag
In line with its immediate rivals, Mahindra may price its all-new body-on-frame SUV at anything around Rs 30-35 lakh. This will bring it at par with other premium body-on-frame offerings like Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and Isuzu mu-X. Its unibody rivals include Honda CR-V, Mitsubishi Outlander, and the Skoda Kodiaq.
