Mahindra Developing Driverless Technology in India

The lives of the passengers are becoming a lot safer with the help of already developed and installed automatic systems such  as Park Assist, Automatic Cruise control and many more in various high end car models of famous automakers. After the Google, Tesla, BMW and Audi's driverless runabout development efforts, the world's renowned Indian automobile manufacturer “Mahindra & Mahindra” is also planning to join the troop through Mahindra Reva (an electric subsidiary of Mahindra).

Yes, Mahindra Reva, which is already launched worldwide and is gaining attention in the electric auto-market. With the frequency of around 2000, it is the highest selling electric car in India and is equipped with various drive assisting sensors. It is to be noted that the company has already shown the driver less concept earlier in Singapore and UK, and now their Research and Development department is experimenting with the same in the Bengaluru situated auto plant in India. The company is still waiting for the permission of Indian Government to run the test for these runabouts on the roads in a realistic traffic environment.

Mahindra Reva Driverless

Company has already planned that the road test would be performed in United Kingdom and Singapore and the software development for this concept is currently developing with the help of the company's technological branch names as “Tech Mahindra.” The Mahindra will going to experience extra difficulty for evolving this automatic concept, as the traffic environment of India is bit clumsy and tightly packed. It is to be estimated that the Reva will need at least 3 to 5 years for this development model to come in market after the completion of the trials.
