Mahindra Scorpio AT Embarked at the Indian Ways

After the launch of Hyundai Creta, yet another SUV has been launched by Mahindra. This newly launched vehicle is actually the automatic version of Scorpio model. The car has been launched at a starting price of INR 13.13 Lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). This SUV has been launched in both AWD and FWD versions, which will be available in the top ranging S10 variant. Majority of the features remain unchanged as compared to the previous Scorpio version. As the name suggests, certain automatic features have been added to the latest version.

This newly launched version will be powered by the same 2.2 litre, mHawk engine which is equipped in the manual Scorpio model. This engine generates an output of 122 PS at 4,000 rpm and torqued at 280 Nm between 1,800 to 2,800 rpm. For transmission, there is a 6-speed automatic gearbox mated to the engine unlike the previous version, which has a 5-speed transmission system.

This automatic version features 17-inch alloy wheels along with projector head lights, newly designed grille and LED daytime running lights. Some other features like automatic climate control, Anti-Lock Breaking System, Electronic Brake-Force Distribution, height adjustable driver's seat and dual front airbags are also available.

A lot of SUVs have been introduced recently particularly in the Indian automobile market. As a result, there is a tough fight among these vehicles for grabbing the maximum market share. However, after the launch of Hyundai Creta and automatic Scorpio version, the competition is going to be even more interesting.
