As per the fresh reports, Mahindra & Mahindra is planning to launch the next generation Thar by the year 2018. It was just a year ago, when the company released its facelift version with a range of cosmetic, styling as well as rear profile changes. Now, the upcoming model is making evidence of its huge popularity among the Indian car lovers.
Courtesy to Motor Octane, which has reported about the new 2018 Thar would come with a series of changes compared to the current model. In order to improve harshness, it will be designed at the new generation platform, however, the company won't change much of its styling. Furthermore, it would also be accompanied with some safety features such as airbags and ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) as standard.
To perform mechanical duties, the vehicle shall be offered with 1.5-litre diesel engine, based on the mHawk platform. With this attachment, the unit is good for 100 Bhp of power and 240 Nm of torque. Also, it will slightly more frugal in comparison with the ongoing model.
Besides this, Mahindra & Mahindra had earlier launched a 1.99-litre engine option with its most selling SUVs – Scorpio and XUV 500. It is a major step to retain its market share, which is highly affected by the new rules of Delhi government.
