Mahindra XUV500 Petrol Launched In India At Rs 15.49 lakh

Mahindra, an Indian multinational car manufacturing corporation, launched the XUV500 petrol variant in India. Although, at present, the new SUV is existing independently with a six-speed automatic gearbox and obtains a single trim as spied previously. This single ‘G AT’ variant of Mahindra has priced at Rs. 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

The SUV is powered by a 2.2-litre petrol engine that is able to churn out a maximum power of 140hp and develops a peak torque of 320 Nm. The engine of the car comes mated to AISIN-sourced six-speed automatic gearbox. It is available in manual gearshifts as well. The Mahindra XUV500 shares the same block like company's flagship mHawk diesel.

The new SUV shares the same features like its diesel counterpart, which takes in cruise control, an eight-way adjustable driver seat, push-button start, and a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto. Coming to the safety consideration, it has dual airbags, ABS with EBD, and ESP with rollover mitigation.

The new addition of petrol engine in the XUV500 series will enhance Mahindra's petrol range and make the SUV compete against rivals like the famous Jeep Compass. In addition, it added a remark as well in the carmaker's larger objective to provide the choice of a petrol engine version in its complete portfolio from 2018.

On the basis of the repercussion for the XUV500 petrol variant, Mahindra will do an assessment of a petrol variant in other Scorpio series.

The car manufacturer is recently cooperating the development of an all-new 1.5-litre petrol engine with SsangYong, which can be seen in models from both the automakers.
