Indian automobile giant Mahindra who entered and thrived in the SUV segment after the launch of its iconic XUV500 is once again in the news. The company has launched a limited edition of its famous SUV as Mahindra XUV500 Sportz with a price tag of INR 13.68 Lac (Ex-showroom, Pune) and will sale only 1000 units. The company will offer 1,000 units of this limited edition launch. The limited edition model is an improvised version of its top model Mahindra XUV500 W8. This new edition has a number of significant exterior and interior features improved like fog lamps housing, roof rails, door handle lights, reddish appearance of alloy wheels, and ‘Sportz’ mark on the C-pillar.
The interiors also have new leather and fabric combination upholstery, 6-inch touch screen with rear view camera, climate control, automatic wipers and headlamps, LED parking lights and electrical ORVM. On the security front too, the Mahindra XUV500 Sportz has features like ESP, 6 airbags (front, side and curtain), ABS, EBD and Hill hold & decent control. However, the power unit will be the same in it, that is, 2.2 Litre 2179 cc 4 Cylinder mHAWk CRDe diesel engine with maximum power of 140 bhp @ 3750 rpm and torque of 330 Nm @ 2800 rpm. It’ll have the same 6 – speed manual transmission too.
The overall design and specifications of this new Mahindra XUV500 Sportz edition is very appealing and it’ll surely give a good competition to its counterparts like Renault Duster 4x4, Duster Adventure 85 PS and Nissan Terrano with the price tag of INR 13.68 Lac ex-showroom and availability of only 1000 units.
