Maruti Baleno Finally Launched in India Retailed at INR 4.99 Lacs

The much awaited premium hatchback Maruti Baleno has been finally launched in India at a much affordable price of INR 4.99 Lacs (ex-showroom). It has been introduced in several variants namely Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha in both diesel and petrol guise. There are various paint shades to choose from and the model will be available for sale at company's Nexa outlets, just like the S-Cross. There is going to be tough fight between Baleno and the likes of Hyundai Elite i20 as well as VW Polo. From outside it resembles to the Swift hatch with certain newly added elements.

Dimension wise, it stands 3995 mm long, 1745 mm wide, 1470 mm tall and the wheelbase is measured at 2520 mm. It is light in weight, which aids in offering improved driving dynamics and at the same time provides impressive fuel economy. The petrol mill is powered by a 1.2 litre K Series engine that churns out 84.3PS and 115Nm of torque, mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. The Delta variant is offered with a CVT unit for handling transmission. Moving on to the diesel variant, it houses a 1.3 litre unit clubbed with a five -speed manual gearbox that makes 75PS/190Nm of maximum output. The mileage returned by diesel powertrain is 27.39 km/l whereas that of the petrol variant stands at 21.4 km/l.
