The November sales have undoubtedly benefited both Maruti and Hyundai, but at the same time it has led to an intense competition between the two. While the former has been able to receive 40,000 bookings for its Baleno, the latter has also successfully sold 1,50,000 units of Elite i20 in the country. However when compared, the Elite i20 has sold less 8,264 units, which is less than the previous month because of the entry of all new Baleno that has sold 9,074 units. Moreover, the sale of Swift has also been affected considerably, thereby proving Baleno as the ultimate winner.
At one point of time, Hyundai Elite i20 was the top selling premium hatchback in the country. It is still counted among the top 10 hatch models, but unfortunately the crown for numero uno position has been snatched away by the all new star Baleno. The highlighting fact is that Baleno has achieved this sales figure within less than one month of its launch. Considering this, its performance in future is likely to achieve many more milestones in future.

One of the biggest reason for Baleno's success is that it features various facilities that are absent in other models in its segment. It has got LED DRLs, alloy wheels and automatic gearbox in the top range trims. Moreover, the pricing has been done brilliantly, which is evidently attracting a lot of customers. As of now, the positions for top 10 cars in the hatchback segment is quite clear, but nothing can be predicted as these top 10 spots largely depend on new entrants as well as discount offers by companies.
