Maruti has silently introduced a special edition model of its most selling hatchback Swift in India at an introductory price tag of INR 5.45 lakh for the petrol variant. The price for the diesel variant of the same is Rs 6.40 lakh. Entitled as the Swift Limited Edition, the model is designated between L and V trims.
This limited run model of the hatch Swift received a host of upgrades at both the cosmetic and feature front. At the skin, the new model now gets decals across the car including bonnet, side profile and on the roof. While moving inside, there are new seat and steering wheel covers along with a new touch-screen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. As the ad video of the Swift Limited Edition claims, the car offers powerful music system with speakers with extra bass along with new carpet floor mats.
Mechanically, the Maruti Suzuki Swift limited edition is loaded with the similar 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engines options of the outgoing Swift. Mated to a common 5-speed manual gearbox, the petrol engine develops the maximum power of 83 bhp along with 115 Nm peak torque, while the diesel engine churns out 74 bhp and 190 Nm.
The introduction of this Limited Edition Swift is come out as surprising for the audience as they were waiting for the all-new third-gen Swift that is expected to debut at the upcoming Auto Expo in February 2018, and launch soon after. Maybe it could be a part of Maruti’s strategy to clear the existing stock available in the market.
