Maruti Suzuki to Launch WagonR Xrest Variant Soon

Earlier this year at the Auto Expo Delhi, Maruti Suzuki demoed many concept and facelift cars that were supposed to get light of the day sometime in the future. Well, the company has started rolling out the product with the public debut of Xrest variant of its most popular car WagonR. However, new design updates on this Xrest version doesn't seem very good as the company has tried to give it a crossover look, but miserably failed at. Though the WagonR has just crossed the 15 Lac selling mark only a few days back, making it one of the most popular cars in the country, but not for its looks for sure.

 WagonR Xrest

This new WagonR Xrest has been equipped with black cladding at sides, which desperately tries to give it a crossover like look, but hasn't been successful at doing so because the cladding doesn't stretch to the rear bumper instead finishes at the wheels only. Apart from the cladding, there are new smokes headlamps and taillamps, tweaked radiator grille, silver insert at front bumper end and roof rails. Mentioning Inside, there might be new black and beige color theme, reverse parking sensors, digital display, remote central locking, door sills and carpet floor mats.

Although, there won't be any change in the mechanical terms as this WagonR Xrest would be powered by the very same 1.0 Litre 3-cylinder petrol engine producing 67 bhp power and 90 Nm torque. It would also get the same 5-speed manual transmission gearbox as well. This version of the WagonR Xrest is not an interesting option for its design, but could serve as an option for those who can't buy natural crossovers like VW Cross Polo, Toyota Etios Cross and others because of their hefty price tag.
