Mercedes Reveals Image of Upcoming S-Class Cabriolet

Prior to its global introduction at the upcoming Frankfurt Auto Show, Mercedes has officially unveiled the new S-Class Cabriolet. Earlier this month, the luxury car maker had released a sketch of the model but now the actual image of the convertible has been disclosed. This is the sixth car in the S-Class lineup and will reflect the styling cues derived from S500 Coupe. It will be carrying innovative and modern features that are necessarily found in every other Mercedes model.

In the interior, this cabriolet flaunts the use of leather along with the use of wood and high quality metal in the cabin and upholstery. It also gets heated seats, armrests and automatic climate control. It will also be fitted with the Aircap Automatic Wind Protection system that helps in handling the excessive wind when the roof is removed.

The twin-turbo 4.7 litre, V8 petrol engine that does duty on the S500 coupe will be fitted into the new Cabriolet. This motor is capable to deliver power of 453 Bhp and 700 Nm of torque. Apart from this, the model will also be powered by a turbocharged 5.5 litre, V8 motor found in the S63 AMG model.

It is speculated that the S-Class Cabriolet will make its way to the Australian showrooms by the end of the year 2016. Its arrival to the Indian market is doubtful in near future, but the automobile brand is coming up with the Maybach S600 around November, 2015.
