Mini Unveils New Clubman John Cooper Works, Smashes 228-hp

Besides being redesigned last year, the British auto-major, Mini has now unveiled a more powerful version of its versatile Clubman hatchback. Slated for 2017 model year, the MIni Clubman John Cooper Works will be launched in the United States in December this year.

The posh and sporty, Mini JCW Clubman under the hood housed a 2.0 liter twin-turbo four cylinder engine which smashed out monstrous 228hp power and 258lb-ft torque. The mated six-speed manual or the eight-speed automatic transmission helps to dispatch churned power to the all the four wheels via four wheel drive system. The JCW Clubman hatch is claimed to complete 0-60mph in 6 seconds by using included launch control function.

Other performance upgrades to the new Mini Clubman include a lowered JCW sport suspension, Brembo brakes with 4-piston fixed callipers up front, a high-flow exhaust system, 18-inch alloy wheels and aero elements for the body. The optional adjustable dampers can also be added to the car.

On interiors, the Mini Clubman is featured with black Dinamica/fabric sport seats, optional leather seats with red accenting, a JCW-specific instrument cluster, a head-up display, chrome work near to the interior door handles and welcome exterior lighting.

The JCW Clubman will be showcased for the first time on September 29 at the Paris Auto Show. And, this hatch will go on sale at the price tag slightly premium than the JCW Hardtop’s starting price, $31,450.
