2018 Honda Monkey 125 Unveiled

The Japanese manufacturer, Honda has unveiled the Monkey 125 for 2018. With this new 125cc motorcycle the company revived the Monkey moniker.

Apparently, it is all similar to the brand’s iconic mini-bike, however, it is adorned with a host of cosmetic tweaks that offers a modern appeal. The major highlights on the mini-bike include a full LED headlamp with LED DRL, all-digital instrument cluster, inverted front fork, etc. Furthermore, the bike gets the advanced safety features like disc brakes which are in association with ABS as standard fitment.

Developed on the Honda Grom platform, the Monkey 125 also shares its 125cc, longitudinal, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. Mated to a four-speed gearbox, the motorcycle uses the churn out 9.3bhp and 9.25Nm of torque that is sent to the rear wheel via a final chain drive.

Honda Monkey 125 came into presence post the firm announced the discontinuation for the 50cc Monkey. As reported, the Monkey will hit the global market in two variants of a Scrambler and‘Café Monkey’ trim. What will be the product’s pricing is not revealed yet. Though, its sales are likely to commence from next month.

If the Indian emergence of the Monkey 125 is concerned, it is not going to mark its presence anytime soon in the country. The availability of the similar segment product, Honda Navi that not only shares Honda Activa platform but also the powertrain, is the concluded reason behind. Also, the Honda Navi that garnered the huge initial customer response, is not managing to generate volume for the automaker.
