New Hyundai Elite i20 Facelift Debut Expected at 2018 Delhi Auto Expo

The Indian subsidiary of the South Korean carmaker, Hyundai Motor India may add two new cars in its lineup in 2018. Speculations are both will fall in hatchback car segment, one could be an all-new small car as the replacement of Santro and other could be the facelift version of Hyundai Elite i20. Reportedly, it has been found that the new Elite i20 will be showcased at the upcoming Delhi Auto Expo in February 2018 while its arrival at the dealerships is expected by the end of 2018. In addition to that, the production model is under testing as known from the earlier and recent spied event of the car.

In terms of rivalry in the segment, the 2018 Hyundai i20 will combat with the opponents in list such as the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Honda Jazz, Ford Figo and the upcoming Tata X451 hatchback.

If the changes to the forthcoming are considered, it will receive slight changes to the skin along with the updated cabin with new attributes. On the exterior front, the car will follow the latest design language of the Korean automaker. At the fascia, it will be decorated with the similar ‘Cascade’ grille, that is witnessed on the lately launched Verna and Xcent compact sedan models. Other than this, there will be a new headlamp assembly along with the LED DRLs and an-all bumper design. The side profile will hold onlookers by newly designed alloy-wheels. While, the rear will gets the fitments such as a redesigned tailgate, revised rear bumper and new LED taillights.

Inside the cabin, the new i20 is expected to get changes as are in trend such as new seat upholstery, new features along with an updated infotainment system.

Mechanically, The i20 facelift will continue to get propelling power from the set of engines available in the current generation model that are 1.2-litre petrol integrated to a manual transmission only. While, the 1.4-litre diesel and 1.4-litre petrol engine will be in association with manual and automatic transmission respectively.
