Finally, the Super 2000 rally car's crown has been taken from the Skoda Fabia S2000 and the highest motorsport authority, the International Automobile Federation (FIA) has given this grand victory to the latest Skoda Fabia R5. The runabout is aiming to bring a new level of success for the company which has been celebrated 114 years of motorsport victory. The manufacturer has amazingly built this vehicle to continue its triumph for a very long time with more aggressive outlook and more energetic performance as compared to its predecessor.

Skoda board member for development, Dr. Frank Welsch said, “We are delighted that the International Automobile Federation FIA has given us the green light. Now we can prove just how good our new rally car is in the race series. When working on the third-generation production Fabia, which enjoyed an extremely successful start, we incorporated some of the genes from our rally cars and developed the most emotive Fabia ever. Conversely, the production model now formed the basis for the new Fabia R5.”

Brand's Motorsport Director, Michal Hrabanek added, “With the new ŠKODA Fabia R5, we want to follow on from the success we have enjoyed in recent years with speed and reliability on the rally routes of this world. Following the successful homologation, we can now initiate the next phase of the Fabia R 5 project.” Mechanically, the Fabia R5 is powered by a 1.6 litre turbo engine that makes 265 bhp of power and this mill is paired to a McPherson struts and a 5-speed sequential gearbox, which believes to transfer the produced power to all four wheels of the car.
