Next-Gen Bentley Mulsanne Will Come In All-Electric Avatar

The existing Bentley Mulsanne was introduced in 2010. The Bentley will go on with the production of the flagship Luxo-barge to the end of this decade. Although the next-gen mode rivaling Phantom will launch in 2020, the company is considering on how to re-introduce the Mulsanne. As the report suggests, the 3rd-gen Mulsanne will be all-electric.

Aston Martin has also reinvented the Lagonda brand to make all-electric flagships, likewise, Bentley is also considering to make the similar decision.

However, there is no consideration on an electric Bentayga right now, the chances are high that a flagship electric saloon can get a platform. Moreover, the company has not assured any information about the Mulsanne updates or you can say it is not decided what to get in powertrain if it comes out in new Avatar. As the update is due in later years, the electric Bentley Salon can benefit from new generation battery technology.

The Bentley runs under Volkswagen Group, so with the electric push, we can expect the production of Bentley Mulsanne in next year. Each segment from the carmaker will get an electric vehicle, so the electric Mulsanne will be capable of sharing the EV platform from the production version of VW I.D. Vizzion and the Porsche Mission E.

The Bentayga plug-in hybrid is also the Bentley product but the Mulsanne will be the first pure electric vehicle. The next-gen Flying Spur will get its place with the new Continental GT in the market. With the Mulsanne electric production to be done, we expect to see entire Bentley line-up to ensue.
