Next Generation BMW R1200RT Spied Testing With New Boxer Engine

The next generation model of the Sport touring motorcycle, the R1200RT from BMW Motorrad has been spied testing. Though at the skin not much changes are witnessed over the ongoing R1200RT model a closer look reveals new cam covers that clearly indicates the fitment of a new Boxer engine that was in talks from last year. Rumours also suggest that this new offering will use the variable valve timing and get the enhanced displacement from earlier 1170cc to 1250cc displacement.

Another operation is seen in the form a new TFT display in the instrument console. Visually, no alterations are made on the exterior front by the automaker. It could be the part of bikemaker’s strategy for hiding the test mule getting recognised. The new model is likely to mark its appearance in front of the audience at the upcoming EICMA show later this year.

Being on sale since 2005, the sport touring motorcycle beside a few visual upgrades do not get any major changes.
