Recently a test version of the popular Mahindra Thar has been spotted which is expected to be launched in mid-2020. Also to note that the next generation Mahindra Thar will be coming with a refreshed 2.0-litre diesel engine fully compliant with the BS-VI emissions regulations.
Also the next generation Mahindra Thar may come with a 140hp power and above 300Nm of torque which would be a beneficial point in terms of higher terrains as well as highway cruising.
If we compare the Mahindra Thar with the rival Force Gurkha, it will be having a competitive edge over the other with better refinement in the engine.
However, there is not much detailed information regarding the interiors as well as the feature spec but it was found that the front suspensions would be curated for both off road and on road usage.
In terms of safety, it is expected that the latest Mahindra Thar will be having driver’ s-side airbag, ABS and rear parking sensors and further fully compliant with the crash test parameters.
Finally be aware of the latest safety norms coming ahead in the Indian laws which require mandatory ABS from April 1, 2019, while the crash test parameters to come into enforcement from 1st October 2019. But due to non-availability of these features, there might be no Thar model available from given dates till new model.
