Only 16 units of YZF-R3 Recalled In USA To Replace The Upper Triple Clamp

The Japanese two-wheeler maker Yamaha has made a recall announcement of the newly introduced 321cc YZF-R3 in USA. The recall has not happened in a much larger number of motorcycles, surprisingly, only two digits of model have been recall such as the 16 units of R3 are affected by this recall, that were manufactured between the January 1, 2015 and August 31, 2015. The affected motorcycles have an incorrectly manufactured upper triple clamp that may crake while riding. If the upper triple clamp fractures, then it will become a major cause of accident. The company has informed its dealer to contact with the owners of YZF-R3 to replace the upper triple clamp with the new one without any cost.

The R3 is also being sold in some other countries, don’t need to worry, if you think your motorcycle may be affected with upper triple clamp, then you can assuredly contact your Yamaha dealer with your motorcycle’s chassis and VIN numbers.

Yamaha has recently launched this motorcycle in India at Rs. 3.25 lakhs (Ex. Showroom Delhi). The motorcycle has been brought in Indian shore via complete knock-down (CKD) units from Yamaha Indonesia.

The Yamaha YZF-R3 is powered by a 321cc liquid-cooled and twin-cylinder engine unit. The fuel injected motor delivers 42 BHP of power at 10,750 RPM and 29.6 Nm of torque at 9,000 RPM. The engine unit is mated to a six speed transmission. The YZF-R3 is inspired by the racing DNA of R1M and comes equipped with Yamaha’s R-series technology that includes of a direct-drive camshaft, low-friction cylinders, forged pistons, etc.
