Petrol Version of Jeep Grand Cherokee and Jeep Wrangler Coming India Next Month

Fiat Chrysler’s renowned off-road utility brand, Jeep is all set to make its Indian debut in petrol-powered range next month. Jeep will launch petrol version of both the SUVs, the Grand Cherokee and the Jeep Wrangler which are currently offered with the only diesel powertrain.

The new petrol powertrain on the Jeep Wrangler will be a 3.6-litre V6 unit which is capable of churning out the maximum power of 285 hp and the peak torque of 353 Nm. Power is transmitted to all wheels via a 5-speed automatic transmission. The another all-wheel-drive Grand Cherokee SUV will also come with the same V6 motor under its hood, but tuned to produce higher, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission it delivers the maximum power of 395 hp.

Jeep Wrangler Coming India in Petrol engine
The petrol variant of both Jeep Wrangler and Grand Cherokee will only be offered in five-door Unlimited body style, just like their diesel siblings. Also, there will no changes to the features and equipment, cosmetics on petrol version will remain identical to that of the diesel.

Here, the big blown is the price, the petrol version of Jeep Grand Cherokee is likely to get a cut of around INR 15 Lakh from the regular price of its diesel sibling. Currently, the diesel-powered Grand Cherokee ranges from INR 93.64 Lakh to INR 1.03 Crore, while the high-performance Grand Cherokee SRT powered by a Hemi V8 engine is priced INR 1.12 Crore.

Jeep Wrangler India Side Profile

The price of the petrol-powered Jeep Wrangler will also be lower by INR 18 - 20 Lakh than its diesel sibling which is currently on sale in the country with the price tag of INR 71.59 Lakh. All the above-mentioned prices are ex-showroom Delhi.
